“Win in First Professional Outing”

Pitch in your professional debut after a long day of airplane travel?

Sounds like disaster. It was disaster for the opposition as Tucson right-hander Randy Keen made masterful use of a change up and pitched the Saguaros to a 7-1 win last night at Kino Stadium.

Keen walked the first man he faced. A double and a run scoring sacrifice fly followed but that is all the Roswell Invaders could muster against him the rest of the way. All of this was topped off on the final out of the game. Invader Joey Miller ripped a 2-oh pitch to the fence in left but Adam Urbania made a spiraling grab for the out.

Urbania also helped out at the plate, collecting two hits along with shortstop Michael Morris and second baseman DaVon Poole. Poole’s two run double in the third inning keyed a five run uprising that erased the early one run deficit and smoothed Keen’s ride to the win.

Another interesting note is that Keen struck out only 2 batters, walking two, while only surrendering five hits. Besides the first inning run, only one other Invader got past second base, and that was on an error. Keen got help in the field when Morris, then Poole turned in separate sparkling plays, ranging wide to the left to grab sure base hits to record outs.

The Tucson win expanded the lead over Roswell in the Pecos League South to 3 games.

The two teams play tonight and tomorrow night at Kino Stadium, then travel to Bisbee, AZ for the fourth game of the series. Tucson stays on the road for a three game set at Alpine, Texas before returning home Thursday through Saturday against Sante Fe New Mexico.

I am pleased to offer a recommendation in support of broadcaster Allen Scott. I have been acquainted with Mr. Scott for over four decades and I have never known him to do anything but great work in any job he has been assigned to as a broadcaster.

Over the years I worked with Mr. Scott during my tenure in professional hockey, baseball and during my almost forty years working in college football for the San Diego Bowl Game Association (Holiday Bowl).

Mr. Scott is a veteran broadcaster who has an excellent work ethic, is responsible, dependable, and to put it simply, is a pro.  As a baseball play by play announcer, he does his homework and will provide his employer attention to detail to go along with a quality broadcast day in and day out.

He also can perform other duties to go along with his broadcasting as Mr. Scott has years of experience in public speaking, public relations, promotion and advertising.

Allen Scott would be a quality addition to any organization.
